Job Description

Crawford Associates Engineering, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineering/Project Manager - Transportation for our Austin office with experience managing transportation projects and will be a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas. This full-time role includes marketing, business development, client management, and project management for transportation agencies and public works clients in and around Houston, TX and has opportunities to work on transportation projects for other HZ offices. Location: Houston Austin, Texas Employment Type: 40 FT Hours Compensation Type: Salary Registration(s): Professional Licensed Engineer Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Duties: Conduct business development efforts for transportation and public works clients, local public works, departments and some involvement with transit agencies (Houston Metro, etc.). Serve as Project Manager and oversee operations for roadway and drainage transportation projects. Develop, oversee, and monitor project activities including scope, budget, and schedule management. Mentor and management supporting staff for transportation projects. Participate in engineering organizations (e.g., ACEC, ASCE and AASHTO). Support company-wide transportation initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Undertakes Project Manager responsibilities for major projects ($2.0+ million annual billing). Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects. Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client). Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projects. Cultivates relationships with clients and holds strong relationships with clients. Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process including weekly rhythm. Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and is responsible for assigned portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy. Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations. Actively engages and participates in the training, coaching, and mentoring of junior staff. Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current. Minimum 15 years of experience. Must be a Licensed Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas. Proficient in OpenRoads and ProjectWise. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management scheduling and financial tools. Strong civil engineering technical skills. Good communication and leadership skills. Good with clients, experience in business development and proposal preparation. Experience and relationships with Houston region transit and transportation agencies.
